Diagnodent Cavity Detection in our NYC Dental Office
It’s as true at the offices of Dr. Frederick Stange as it is at any NYC dental office: finding cavities can sometimes prove to be very difficult for the dentist, especially if they are minuscule. Because of that, our dental practice uses a technology called Diagnodent to help detect cavities before they become really serious -- no matter how small those cavities might be.

Diagnodent is a laser that sends pulses of light at your teeth to detect any sign of a cavity. If you have a cavity, a light of a different wavelength than the original pulse sent out will be sent back to the sensor of the Diagnodent and translated into a number. The higher the number, the more decayed the tooth. When a cavity is discovered, the Diagnodent lets the dentist know by beeping. The Diagnodent helps the dentist detect signs of decay on all of your teeth at an early stage -- which means that restoring your teeth to health is less expensive and easier for patient and dentist alike.
